Destiny Wishlist: Prologue Story-Based DLC
I've has this rolling around in my mind for a while, but reading this post - https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/4jh3do/i_know_iron_banner_is_all_about_crucible_but_i/ - made me think about all the awesome pre-Destiny 1 stories there are.
What I'd love to see - story-based dlc based upon some the Grimoire tales that are just too good to be remain hidden and the lore that makes up such a huge part of the game.
For example, the Thorn/The Last word tale (collected here at Kotaku: http://thebests.kotaku.com/the-best-story-from-destiny-s-hidden-lore-1728113953#_ga=1.248977479.1374784816.1416946327) is a wonderful western in the Destiny Universe. While it wouldn't make much sense to play as one of the leads in that story (although that would be pretty awesome), we could play as a bystander, taking in the goings-on or as another Guardian making their way to the Tower through the wasteland. Not perfect, but I'd love to be able to play this tale in some fashion.
The Lords of the Iron Banner: again, not necessarily playing as one of the leads, but as a version of one of your classes and taking part in the many battles that formed the order, including the battle at Twilight Gap, allowing us to see the legends in action and taking part in the epic battles they became so well known for.
The Factions: fleshing out the formation of each faction and seeing the creation of the city and the Tower. There are surely many tales to be told within the city environment and I for one would love to see the city opened up at some point as a playable area, with new NPC's to interact with, both in the past as the city is built and defended, and in the present, where new and opposing NPC's and factions are revealed.
It would be a neat way for Bungie to flesh out the already detailed Destiny Universe, maybe along the same lines as Halo Reach - taking well known lore, rich in story and making it available to play.
Thoughts?
