St John's to Gros Morne / Labrador - Feedback Please :)

Hi r/newfoundland! It's me again. I understand that you get many of these posts a week, and appreciate your patience :-). I've looked at previous posts and it's been very helpful since my last question. I don't usually plan in such detail, but I'm trying to book things in advance due to the busy holiday season!

Since then:

• We have booked our car for the entirety of the trip. By jiggling around with the dates, locations, ferry / flight costs, etc. - made sense to rent one car throughout
• Have arranged transportation for my friend to Stephenville so won't need a detour (got lucky there!)

May I please have some feedback regarding the following itinerary?

• Particularly for Gros Morne hiking? Wanted to do backcountry, but it doesn't seem recommended without GPS experience
• Recommended accommodations in Gros Morne? Thinking Berry Hill Campground for the North or a Cabin throughout (though pricey)
• Stop in between St John's and Gros Morne? Decided not to do the drive in one go. Afraid of potentially being caught in the dark (moose!) and friend wants to have Mallard Cottage brunch in St. John's on July 1
