My Utopia

Feedback Received!

Come in! I call, beckoning to my guests
And enter this utopia of the light!
You’ll find that even your deepest distresses
Will fade away as you pass through these doors;

Look here! I cry, pointing at the worn walls
See the battlements, the flags, the towers
Even the blackest creatures of the night
Shall never break through nor enter;

Over there! I wave at the brightness above
Behold the Sun in all its splendor
I swear you’ll never again be so close
To our jewel of the sky, floating evermore!

But those are hospital lights, they said
This world, apparently, is solely in my head
