[Discussion] Karambit Doppler P4 Max Blue Guide

Discuss

Ok, so im gonna try and create a max blue guide for u guys to identify max blues easily. i've been scouring lounge and this reddit for a long time and i've sold many many max blues. i welcome all constructive opinions and maybe a proper name for the 2 different shades of max blues.

I am pretty at war with myself at defining a max blue as there are some knives that are on the borderline of max blue and not max which is extremely difficult to tell. what i can try to show are knives that are definitely max blue. i would love input on what im about to explain below.

Basically there are 2 types of true max blue p4's. One is a lighter shade than the other on the inspect screen. but ingame they technically look the same in game. im using metjm for the different screenshots as thats how i compare between the different knives.

In game screenshots of light and dark shade max blue:

This is the lighter shade version in game ( the 0.001fv max blue in the album of lighter shade max blues )

This is the darker shade version in game ( the 0.0176fv max blue in the album of darker shade max blues )

The 2 different max blues look identical in game but look different on the inspect screen.

  • For this kind of max blue , the tip of the playside is very clearly lighter than the other parts of the blade. and the back of the knife is fully blue until near the tip where there are slight variations of it but basically it is damn bloody blue. you can also tell with the dark parts of the knife being

A big example of this is on the 0.001fv knife, where u can clearly see the difference in colour.

*For a darker shade max blue, the playside's tip is also a lighter shade than the rest of the blade but as the way dopplers are cut out from the colour scheme a darker shade max blue is harder to spot. what u can look out for is the dark area on the playside and the tip of the blade on the playside.

Now for the part everyone is waiting for. examples of kara doppler p4's that are NOT max blues. Keep in mind that these knives most often than not have a full blue back blade ( INGAME ) but these knives are not max blue. This does not mean that they aren't blue in game. they are really blue in comparison to a normal kara p4.

Disclaimer: (There is one knife in this album which i feel is in the grey area between max and not max.)

  • Points u can observe: http://imgur.com/a/VKKGw. i try and point out the different parts of the blade where u can try and discern the difference from a max blue. but im only human and i do make errors of judgement.

edit this is just a method of how to identify max blues from inspecting. Using metjm screenshots does not mean you just base your judgement on the screenshot itself. i also do not do checking whether knives are max blues as i prefer this post to be purely informative to the trader new to these kind of knives.
