El Dragón Guide
Mastered this character and decided to write something to help anyone trying to pick him up. I must say the dragon is one of the most destructive characters in this game and just a blast to play. He starts the game off as a squishy nuisance, but starting mid-game he's burying more people than HHH. Let's start off with his helix build. (Sorry for formatting on mobile)
1.) The comeback- enemies hit by your splash now do less damage. You absolutely need this skill. Just taking less damage is pretty self explanatory. Let's him jump in on mobs and get out pretty safely. This move alone let's you tank the sentry when you have heavyweight. Splash in punch clothe line out. It ridiculous how little the sentry can hurt you.
2.) Splash Damage- both skills are good but with this your now able to wipe out bot waves with ease and control key choke points. Not to mention it racks up damage really fast combined with en Fuego and his legendary gear. This allows Dragón to do mine the lane game. More minions , more levels. With getting minion kills and running collecting shards, you'll be the highest level battleborn every time
3.) Deafening applause- Gives his clap a huge boost in area of affect. Now you can learn bot waves even easier with out having to you your slam. The range on this is insane, you can Hank people from so far trying to flee at low health. Helps you hit pesky snipers on the sniper spot on overgrowth and now your attacks are pretty much guaranteed to hit other battleborn switch ease. I just love jumping around clapping watching all my attacks hit while the enemy tries to figure out where I am.
4.) Flailing Fists- Canceling your clothes line now launches enemies up in the air. Now he's becoming a bit more lethal. Though it's best to save your clothes line as a way to get out of situations with you surrounded.
5.) Heavyweight- The most important skill for any Dragón player. Part of his kit is that for any kill you get (minion, player, anything) you get one stack that increases your damage out put by 3% and maxes at 10. Now you get 3% damage reduction for each stack. Combined with hitting an enemy with your splash and your not selling any moves soon. At this point the sentry is your next focus ( as long as lanes are cleared and your sentry isn't taking damage) you can just pop en fuego body slam the sentry stunning it and hitting it with your aoe. Soon as it's done clothe line out of there. I can't state how powerful this combo is. It's nice getting easier kills, but it's even nicer when you can just harass the sentry with no worry
6.) Hangtime- just increases your survivability even more. If you have really solid support you can go for more dps.
7.) Big Splash- Both skills are great tbh. But having a wider area means more people getting hit which is really important during en fuego
8). Unbelievable- Channel your inner Liu hang as your melee attack becomes a bicycle kick of doom. His most understated move, it allows you to cheese thralls for fast kills. If an enemy is pushing hard just go around and kick him back to your group. It's a really amazing move
9.) Lifeline- Again both choices are great but most of the time your using your clothes line to escape the fray.
10.) Title Fight- This move really shines when you start 1v1 the enemies sentry or a mob in general. All solid choices but this one feels like it gets the most mileage. So now with our choices made time to discuss how to play this character. Il mostly focus on incursion.
*Start of match - So one of dragons main weakness he's horrible at the start . Your main goal is to collect shards. He's pretty fast and collect 300-400 at the very start before the first wave. Your goal is to reach 500 shards and upgrade the shock turret by your first sentry as it will get you to level 2 giving your splash an aoe. Now you can focus lanes and just destroy enemy bots with one splash. You're still pretty frail so just stick to bots, harass the enemy a bit with out going deep and most importantly collecting shards. You want to reach level 5 asap and the best way is to upgrade shock nodes as they give the most xp and buy super bots when you can. Also don't die. I know it's obvious but you want to keep your stacks. Luckily you only lose half on death and there easy to build.
*Mid-game level 5-7 - Once you hit level five get your ult and damage reduction, it's show time. Your bnb can melt enemies who aren't paying attetion to their map. Your objective is to keep bot lanes clear and kill or two to let your team push. You want to save your bnb for REALLY annoying enemies such as kleese, miko, anyone that just ruins your teams push. The combo is pretty simple yet unholy. Use your clothes line and cancel it to launch an unsuspecting enemy into the air. Pop en fuego and follow up with a splash. Now just punch their face in with your primary attack and its Gg. If you more than one attack with your clap as its poweful as well. Don't go in too deep and just pick off enemies getting too greedy.

Late game- This is where el dragon really shines. The thing I realize by the time I reach level 10 most other players are around 5-7 giving me a huge advantage. Your main job is to keep bots clear still but now you can just tank the enemies sentry and go for the ultimate push. Tbh since you should be the one on the team grabbing thralls and super bots you will know when it's best to go ham on the sentry. Just be sure that one of your teammates gets rid of the enemy thumper as its your worst enemy. Once you got your push going , just run ( or bicycle kick) pop your ult and body slap him. Then just proceed to wreck his face til your ult runs out. Then just clothesline out of there when you see your body slam aoe run out. One more time and the sentry is usually dead. If your playing against good players they will be on the look out for you so your clothes line bnb won't be effective. I find it just better to pop my ult around a corner and body slam them as their not suspecting that. That's pretty much his play style just run around being a nuisance, keeping lanes clear and collecting all the shards. Then he just becomes a killing machine. He takes a while to practice but is a huge assist to any team he's on.

Counters - The worst thing for any Dragón player is getting Cc. He's so squishy that going too deep and getting cc is a death sentence. Characters like Montana , rath, shayne, and ghault are a pain. They can just stun you and nuke you easily. Your splash can be canceled by an enemy very easily ruining your whole plan. When you see an enemy pop a skill that's when you know it's time to go in. Be the punisher and don't get punished. Other than that Dragón handles most of the cast well , and can back door enemies like Marq and
*Gear- Get his legendary asap. It's pretty easy ( you can farm Geoff and the bugs in the algorithm) it gives him 25% more skill damage. The only down side is if you miss you take damage...around 40 health which is such a good trade. For the other two slots I highly suggest health regen and a piece that increases your shield while giving you shards per second. Both are easily gotten in llc packs.
*Teamates- One of the things I like is that el Dragón fits on almost every team. He has so many roles , lane clearer, pusher late game, assassin, harasser, shard collector, thrall clearer. Just focus on what your team lacks. I find that he has the best synergy with kleese and...Reyna...LIKE REYNA REALLY. She can shield him as he goes in and mark enemies for his dps to skyrocket. El Dragón with Reyna can destroy a sentry in one go. El Dragón does his nornal set up but now Reyna can over shield him giving him more survivability, mark the sentry amplifying el Dragón damage, help take down the sentrie's shield and her ult gives you time for one last push. This combo can destroy a sentry in one go, and can be the push you need. The only counter I've seen is kleeses rifts, as if he puts it on the sentry it makes your job harder. All in all el Dragón is an amazing character that excels in kills, land clearing , and just running around building your defense. He's pretty squishy at the start, and can be killed very easily. But once you master him and know how to play the map you can be a killing machine. I hope this helped and I would gladly answer any questions.
*misc tips - el dragon hands glow according to how many stacks he has built up. Electricity means you have 5+
-
his claps range is insane. You can hit people above you hanging around the snipers places
-
in el fuego your moves change: his body slam now stuns and his clothesline is an uppercut. The upper isn't that great and should be saved outside of en fuego. His primary in en feugo is amazing and melts everything.
-
Don't try to kill some one if they have there shield up. If it's gone you can nuke them easily. Shields and turrets are your worst enemy
-
you can 1v1 just about the whole cast with the exception of people like Montana, isic, gal, and kleese.
-
if there's an enemy miko it is your sole job to kill him. You have the kit and and speed to do it. Also you can go for kleese or Marq that are cheering your turrent. You won't be able to kill them if there good but you can stop them
*When you die and respawn , go kill minions. Having stacks is crucial to your dps and tanking abilities
- once you get the clap range bonus that's the move you should be using 80% of the time. Well good luck and try not to job to the other team. El Dragón can play almost any role. For everything I have listed above my mentality In a match is this. Kill minions, get to level 5, rack up some kills, and dps the sentry, solo if need be.
