Some notes on phankill
Everything here is going to be from a JP server perspective, but most of it is probably going to apply to global. All of it is going to be in point form for easy editing.
- Typing matters. I mean: dexterity beats everything because an optimized dex unit will outhit and outrun an equally optimized same unit of a different typing. Dex vanargand > def vanargand, for example. People will say def type is workable but it has no bonuses to spd/tec at least in global rn, so unless you want your bashosen to sit there taking hits and not hitting anything back then for the love of Tyrfing use dex type. they make life so much easier
- Orpheus is your endgame weapon for axes, javelin for lances, and kiyomasa for swords. Only kiyomasa will change to golden lion when those come out. Range is all-important.
- Skills that take however many turns to charge are usually not worth it. You will probably win by the time you use it, and if you haven't won by then you're probably not ready for the stage.
- F2P seems pretty viable IMO but I'm a person with ample disposable income and so I have spent money on JP phankill. The rule seems to be: you can do pretty well on f2p, but just spending a "little" money really boosts your standing by a lot (subject to diminishing returns after a significant growth period, however). Spend your money however you want, but don't run yourself broke trying to pay for a fucking phone game of all things. Go buy cocaine instead (unless you live in the united states; then go pay your hospital bills)
- use lazuli strategically. Saving up for those really good 9step gachas is always worth it (450 lazuli = ~ 225 USD?), especially for free players since the skirurus you get as bonuses are pretty hard to come by, let alone duplicate units.
- if you start at 4*, you need ~1050000 gold to raise a perfectly limit broken 6* unit. That's five evolutions from 4-5, then one evolution to 6. Limit breaking should always be done at 5* lv30 after you finish the relevant episode 2 to get her character skill, but two notable exceptions (Lucina and Michele) exist afaik
- corollary: you can use the same unit of any rarity to guarantee that the base unit's skill levels all increase. A 4* Aphrodite can skill up a 6* one.
- have a full team in Colosseum to make sure you don't lose as often. Battle medals are precious. So are the pararas you get with them.
- feed stat dolls one by one, rather than as batches. 5 str dolls at once will guarantee at least a +8 to str, but 5 dolls one at a time will guarantee at least +10 (round up from half). This lets you save time farming those little fuckers.
- weapon fusion: notice that some weapons from 1-3* have bonus stats and appear at the end of the list of weapons of the same rank if you rank them by stars. fusing two of the same weapon, at least one of which has those bonus stats, will probably get you something good. two gaia cores/juraynas are the best ways to make orpheus
I'll update this when I'm a bit more free.
