Another poem about love

How could the syllables I scribbled down mean so little to you now?
I wish you were illiterate. But how could I forget
The days we literally learned how to read together?
I wonder about that old love letter and its present whereabouts
And whether ignorance or innocence is more bliss
While the nostalgia's so nauseating as I think of us
So ignorantly, innocently blessed with both as kids.
Were the better days when we didn't know any better?
The irony is twisted as I'm reminiscing;
I always thought while growing up that something was amiss,
But now I realize that happiness doesn't come from what was missing.
A lesson learned too late leaves me longing for a lack of love and loss.
I can't stand the sight of you and your new lover
And can't accept the fact I'm facing: that you've moved on from me.
I could never do vice versa. Now, I'm cursed to keep walking this Earth
And never feel your touch again, much less your love.
There was once a time when you and I were so infinitely attracted.
You told me then that the oceans of our world, compared to us,
Are so gigantic, but that the Pacific and Atlantic and et cetera
Could only keep us so finitely separated on this planet.
How romantic. When did you get so disenchanted and recant that?
Or is love really just a game?
I must have wasted all my chances when I kept taking it for granted.
Despite all odds and a love dismantled, we still talk, sometimes even for hours.
Sometimes, you even bring me flowers and place them by my granite.
Fuck how the closest thing to touching now is when you trace out my name.
I wish I didn't know that you don't love me anymore.
Now, you only love my memory, and it's just not the same.

Edit: punctuation - changed comma after granite to a period
