So what's up with Apathy Syndrome

Hi all,

First time ever I'm creating a thread here, so bear with me. I played P3 FES, P4, both Arena's, Q, and a bit of Dancing All Night of the Persona series, and Dancing All Night gave me a major contradiction on Apathy Syndrome. I'm pretty sure everyone who has played it came across it, but in detail it's Naoto saying Apathy Syndrome is caused by Shadows leaving the body. Isn't that the direct opposite of what it is in P3, where a Shadow attack leaves you in a vegetative state due to the Shadow in question eating away your emotions?

It's been a while since I finished P3 FES, and cba playing through the whole game again just to find the definition.
