Question about good lock

Is there anyway to make it so when I press the lock button, the screen goes to the lock screen, rather than just going off where I left it? I normally have my lock setting on 3 minutes of screen off, then I have to put in my password, however with good lock, my phone is unlocked until those 3 minutes are up.

If that makes any sense lol, can anyone let me know? Thanks!
