Play The Witcher 3 now or wait (around two months) for a new GPU? (X-post on r/witcher)

Hey everyone.

So, I just finished W2 a couple of hours ago (felt really short, but sweet) and I'm debating whether to start W3 right of the bat or wait for when I get some excess money to buy a new GPU. I do have somewhat of a backlog on me, so I surely can find something else to put my mind on to, but I got SO hooked to The Witcher franchise that it doesn't seem like such a bad idea to go on even if I might not get the best experience (graphics-wise at least) at the start.

My specs are:

  • i5 4690 @ 3.5
  • 4GB DDR3 ram (gonna upgrade to 8GB in less than a week though)
  • R7 260x OC edition.

The GPU I'm looking at right now will be a R9 380 (since the spare cash I'll have at the end hovers the $200 mark and I'm outside the US so Amazon seems like my best choice) and I could get at as soon as the end of july.

So, opinions? I know this sounds highly subjective, so I would really appreciate someone with an R7 to chime in. I've seen some videos of the performance on that card and they hover around the 30fps mark on a combination of medium/high.

Cheers!
