Hit a customer's car with a row of carts with the machine.
I was coming up the aisle with a row of about 30 carts and while I am probably seven feet away from her car, she starts backing up. I press against the row of carts but I have too much momentum and I hit her door. She pulls back in and I go inside to inform management.
She comes running after me and starts banging on the window near the vestibule yelling at me that there was a big scratch. I go inside and tell a CSM who calls an ASM. The woman is saying how "I was almost backed up and she hit me" but... she started backing out when I was so close that I couldn't stop.
ASM comes up and the woman said she is going to call the police on me, and the ASM tells her not to. We both fill out forms, and me, the ASM and the woman go outside and they take pictures or the damage. Then AP told me they were going to bring up the tapes.
The result? I was told I was not at all at fault. It was obvious she wasn't looking and I couldn't have stopped in time. It was probably $500-ish in damage but they said I am fine as it was her fault and not mine. That had me releived but I thought I was fired/coaches for sure.
