Vue on Fire TV performance (old vs new)

I have the original Fire TV. Vue runs OK, a little sluggish when trying to view channels, etc. I know that Amazon released a new Fire TV in 2015. Anybody know if the performance of Vue on the newer model is better? Or is the Vue app just crappy and slow?
