My first army list...
So I caved and bought a Beastmen Battalion yesterday, giving me 40 goatdudes of various flavors (ew) to mess around with (EW). Between that and Silver Tower, I think I have the basics of a decently fun, varied small army. I'm aware the Arcanite, Tzeentch Daemons and Brayherd factions don't really synergize, but how does this look for a starting lineup to choose from for pickup games?
Ogroid Thaumaturge Herald of Tzeentch 10 Pink Horrors Exalted Flamer of Tzeentch 10 Ungor Raiders 10 Bestigors
I have other stuff on the project shelf- the 20 Gors from the box set, a Burning Chariot with Exalted Flamer (this is where the Herald comes from; the second Exalted Flamer was picked up on a bitz site), and of course the rest of Silver Tower. This was chosen to focus on stuff I can have ready and assembled in a reasonable timeframe, that fits a theme (I'm honestly not sure what the Thaumaturge is supposed to be; "Ogroid" suggests he was an Ogre/Ogor at one point, but he doesn't have any helpful keywords, and in the final analysis, he gots hooves, so he's in), and that won't be an unbearable cheesefest. To that end, no Blue or Brimstone Horrors (not that I have enough anyway) and no Burning Chariot in smaller games, though I'm a little worried the Thaumaturge might be too powerful.
What else would people suggest? Units I'm looking at adding at some point are a Beastlord or Bray-Shaman (the latter is playable in Silver Tower and lets me summon Chaos Monsters, but see above re: cheese) for synergy, some Warhounds, a couple of Chaos Spawn (depending on how people feel about a converted Morghur; I like the mutation/devolution theme), and the Tzeentch Sorcerer Lord. He gives me a chance to pop out Chaos Spawn without Morghur, and from 1d4chan's review of Arcanite units, would make a fun, visually appealing and useful unit with the Tzaangors from Silver Tower.
I'm not trying to make a take-all-comers list at all, but 1) does it look like there are any obvious deficiencies or oversights here and 2) more importantly, would this be fun to play against?
