Bi-Amping with Yamaha Receiver
I'm looking at getting a Yamaha RX-A840BL to power some Fluance XL7F speakers (links below for reference). The XL7Fs are able to be bi-amped, and the Yamaha receiver shows that I can neglect surround speakers and instead bi-amp my front speakers, which is fine because I only have a 5.1 setup anyway.
My question is: does bi-amping this way actually do anything? Supposedly the receiver can put 110W to each channel, and I'm not quite sure if bi-amping the fronts will effectively give me double the power, or if it will just be using two wires for no reason. I know that bi-amping them won't make it sound any different, I'm just wondering if this will give more power to the fronts or not.
Thanks!
