About social ownership

I've run into lots of people lately who have been saying that socialism=state ownership. While I know that it's not, they almost never believe me. Could someone maybe give me some quotes by famous socialist intellectuals which I can use to prove them wrong? In this way I could create a copypasta to send to people who think this "state ownership" nonsense and maybe even convert them into comrades.
