[Help]Need help deciding breed and need opinion!

Hey guys, my family has been contemplating getting a dog for a really long time and now we have finally decided to get one, however we are stumped on what breed to get and what age to get. Some background on us first, I myself am about to start college however I will be attending from home and my hours are expected to be from 10-5 Mon to Thurs, My dad works a 4 day job but his hours on the days he works are from 10-9 making it impossible form him to take care of a dog on the days he works, My mom on the other hand has a consistent office hour job form 8-5. We live in a house in the suburbs in north Texas, with good fencing and a good yard. Furthermore, my dad in the past has had 7 dogs during his younger days and has a lot of exercise and passion for dogs, me myself I grew up around some of those dogs but have no real memory of them as I was really little, my mom married my dad when he had the dogs and has some experience herself. Moving onto the exercise fields, my parents take a walk usually in the evening together and would take the dog with them and in the morning since my day starts at 10 I would be able to take it for some fresh air in the mornings, that being the daily exercise, I would also take it out some days in the evening myself to the park or go to a trail near out house. My main love towards a dog would be intelligence, so my main breeds of interest are (mostly in order), Border Collie, Siberian Husky, German Shepard, Labrador, Golden Retriever. As you can tell I like mid to large sized dogs with some activity in their lives, and whatever breed it may be, we would aim to get it as a puppy.
