When interrogated people give up information even though they know it means death...
.... When they give up information to stop being tortured even though they know it will mean death - they are choosing death over more torture - that decision seems to be widely respected and understood by the audiences of action/thriller movies. But that is essentially all I am doing with suicide: choosing death over torture, but those same people who understood the person's decision to give up the information and be killed over further torture in a movie/TV interrogation scene will not respect or understand my decision as much.
I look at continuing to live as being similar to continuing to allow myself to be tortured by this interrogator, when I should just give up the information and let them kill me (suicide).
When this type of scene happens in a film or TV program I'm watching, where the person being tortured eventually chooses death over more torture, I always feel I really relate to the person being tortured and I feel their great sense of relief that they won't be tortured anymore even if they will now be killed. I feel relief for them, I feel like in that brief moment where they choose death over more suffering we understand eachother.
