Visiting Cuba as a non American living in the US
My girlfriend and I want to go on a vacation to Cuba this August. We are both Europeans but she is currently residing in the US (Florida) for longer than 3 months. She will fly back to Europe at the end of August from a US airport, after our vacation.
This week we found out that it is in fact illegal for citizens of the US to go to Cuba as a tourist and because she is residing in the US for longer than 3 months she is apparently also subject to this law.
Our opinion is that this is bullshit and we would like to go to Cuba anyway. Is there any way around this, or can we safely ignore these rules?
