Build remote to control volume of integrated amplifier?

Hi all,

I built a very basic bookshelf speaker/integrated amplifier setup for my TV. Just a couple of Micca MB42X speakers and an integrated amplifier: http://www.amazon.com/SMSL-50Wx2-TDA7492-Amplifier-Adapter/dp/B00F0H8TOC?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

However, when I have friends over to watch Game of Thrones or whatnot, the dialogue is often much quieter than the battle scenes. Is there any reasonable way to build or attach a remote control for the volume control, or would that involve electrical wiring/soldering/etc.? I'm willing to get my hands somewhat dirty, but I'm afraid I'm not experienced enough to be totally confident in not accidentally ruining something. Thanks for any input!
