Autoconcede

So i just played a game and i got attacked and lost 3/4 (i had 5) of the planets he declared as wargoal. i lost my fleet in a previous war and was consolidating my fleet. shortly before i "resigned" i had about the same fleet power and a bit better fleet composition.

why exactly did i auto-concede?

why is my fleet power nothing worth in ws?
