My[30m] girlfriend[28f] is mad at me because I traveled the world with my ex-girlfriend[26f] prior to meeting her.

Hi guys, looking for advice on how to handle the situation with my girlfriend. We have been together for a year and a half, and we are serious about each other. I plan on proposing to her soon, I already got approval from her folks.

But before I do that, I want to solve this issue. To sum it up, in my mid 20s I wanted to travel the world. My girflriend at the time, was also really into it as well. We went to Japan, Australia, most of Western Europe, Brazil, Jamaica. It was a lot of fun and I made a lot of great memories. It would cost a lot of money, and at the time I worked in a position where there were slow/busy seasons, so getting approval wasn't hard. That and my ex-girlfriend's dad had a lot of connections. My ex-girlfriend and I broke up, she never wanted to settle down and have kids.

I on the other hand wanted to have a family. So I took a non-consulting job and defintely started placing my roots. Thats when I met my girlfried Allie now, and we have been together for one and a half years. The problem so to speak is that Allie has also wanted to travel the world, however she never had the finances or the time to really do so. I never bragged to her about my adventures, only if she asked. My social media accounts too I set my old photos to private as well.

It was really when she asked to see them, so I showed her the photos. And since then she has just been upset. She compares herself to my ex all the time. She will be happy, and something she will see will basically remind her and then she will go to being sad. I don't know what to do. I told her that down the road we can go to Paris, she says she always wanted to go there. But she says that it won't be the same, because I already went there with my ex so it won't mean anything to me. I just don't know what to say to any of this. She doesn't want to break up, but she is basically perpetually mopey over this. how do I resolve this?

tl;dr- prior to dating my girlfriend I traveled the world with my ex-girlfriend. My current girlfriend gets sad when she thinks of world locations.
