[Acne] Antibiotics

I was prescribed solodyn to treat my acne. However I've heard things about antibiotics in terms of acne treatment.

Is it true that it is only a temporary solution and it doesn't actually solve anything?

Also is it true that it hurts your stomach by killing the good bacteria and causes weight gain?
