Help! Deleting white space + sidebar

Hello Designers, This is my first post on this subreddit and newbie to WP... I need your help. I'm trying to delete whitespace from the top of my website's blog. I think it is a template issue. Where can I go to shrink the annoying inch of whitespace at the top?

There is also a sidebar with links to other parts of the page, but it is redundant as there is already one at the top.. Where can I delete it?

Any suggestions help! Reddit gold to the first to help!!
