Alternatives to Firearms?

Due to mistakes in the past, I'm a convicted felon. As such, I'm not legally allowed to own any firearms. And while laws may be impossible to enforce during a zombie apocalypse, I don't want anything to do with the law. So I need some alternatives to firearms. Other than the usual bat, pipe, or spear.
