Can sebaceous cyst cause hair loss?

I have a cyst in my inner thigh. It has been growing rapidly this year. Is it possible that it may have caused my rapid hair shed this year? Basically lost 50% of my hair this past year. If i get it surgically removed, will there be chances that my hair will grow back?
