Thread - What they should have done. What are your thoughts?

I'm thinking:

• Don't hire Chris Evans. Thought it then, thought it now. The man is the definition of irritating, like a hyperactive Richard Hammond fronting the show. I can only imagine there were some kind of internal TV politics that got him the gig.

• Matt LeBlanc has great potential, wry, self-effacing, delivered jokes well. Shackled by Chris Evans.

• Interviewing two guests is a cool touch. I'd keep that.

• Change the format. Keeping the writing exactly the same is like having a character's actor on a TV show replaced between seasons with no acknowledgement - uncanny valley sort of thing. Change the studio layout, change the "some say" thing, change the Clarksonesque delivery...it's off-putting.

• Get a third presenter, if you can't get rid of Evans.
