Ethernet Hub question - LAN from ISP box?

I am trying to get a LAN connection to my PC set up in the basement, which is very far from the router. Since the PC is almost right next to Ethernet hub installed by our ISP, I was wondering if it was possible to get a LAN connection easily from the box to my computer. the Ethernet hub is a TIA-568A, cat5, square D model SDM8D.

I plugged a LAN cable in to the port above a cat5 patch port that is wired thinking it would work but no luck. Is there a simple fix or will I need to do more wiring?

I realize I'm probably missing a ton of information so sorry about that, but I'll provide it quickly if you let me know what I'm missing. Thanks
