Vyvanse for Test Taking? Effective or waste of Vyvanse?
Hi everyone. I've recently taken up Vyvanse as my study drug of choice in the last few weeks. Only recently started taking study drugs as I was forced to take a very difficult 5 course courseload (in a quarter system where normally people take 3-4) and all 5 of these courses are very difficult even for normal standards.
I go to a highly competitive university (in the top 10 in the nation) and many students take adderall and vyvanse to study for and do well on exams which end up destroying curves, professors making exams even harder every quarter due to my major's department's increasing demands for lower grades and stronger competition. So in order to help prepare myself for 3 back to back finals with 2 final papers due this coming Tuesday, I think it's reasonable that I would turn to drugs to help me accomplish these tasks.
Now I normally panic on exams whenever I get tricky questions that were not necessarily covered in prior exams, prior assignments, discussions, etc and this trend has been happening rather extensively in the three classes in which I have finals for on Tuesday. I've been taking vyvanse twice these last 4 days to get me study and get my papers done. I've never been under the effects of vyvanse during an exam and I know a lot of students have. I've also read up that vyvanse will help calm you down from the anxiety of an exam and helps you focus and think better on the tricky questions.
Now my question is, should I take vyvanse a couple hours before my three back to back finals begin? I've never tried this before and would love to hear feedback and stories from others who have tried. I don't want to screw it up since my grades are heavily reliant on this and if I get crappy grades at the end of the quarter, that would jeopardize my chances of getting a highly competitive job during my fall quarter job search.
