Just got the firefly 2 in the mail..

so far... i'm not sure what to think of it. but i find myself consistently going back to my mighty.

i get these random hits that are really good, but it's not consistent. and that seems to revolve around the way that it heats up. I feel like it's not very efficient if you wanna hit it and then stop and come back to it later. the first hit when coming back to a non fresh bowl (after you hit it twice or so) is not that great, and mixing the herb if you pack it full is not as easy as tapping the side of the FF2, you actually have to open it and mix it around with a stick every 2 hits. a bowl generally lasts around 4-5 hits and usually thats not enough for me. i like to stretch my smoke sessions out, but i like to keep smoking. so i'll take a hit or two, take like a 2-3 minute break, take another one, repeat and i just keep it going. idk, maybe the mighty is more suited to this sort of style and often times when i use my mighty i find myself taking too long of a break inbetween some of my hits and so i end up wasting some but the ff2 gets REALLY REALLY hot when i'm using it this way and ontop of that the 3rd/4th/5th hits are really really not as good as the 1st/2nd hits so im not sure if the tradeoff is worth it. I was attracted to the on demand heating of the ff2 but it doesn't seem to work well consistently. it's still a good unit overall, but it didn't blow my mind like i was expecting it to. i'll keep using both and see if my mind changes. this is my honest opinion, and i'm totally unbiased

edit: something to add that I also thought was a little weird and maybe some of the other FF2 users can comment and let me know how theirs is working. When I first got it out of the box, and I lit up the first bowl, the green light blinks to let you know when it's heating up and then it stays solid to let you know when it's ready to hit. well, after a couple sessions my light just stopped blinking and it's always solid, even from a cold start. so now the way I have to use it is I engage the heaters, count to 3 seconds in my head and wait for the bowl to light up orange and then I hit it. idk, kind of weird

edit 2: it's actually working a bit better, i had to develop a specific draw technique to get it more consistent as well as a timing technique, but now it's getting me "high enough" after two bowls, which now that i think about it is about right since it holds .15 compared to the mighty's .3, also it roasts the bud more thoroughly than the mighty (yet the mighty has more vapor somehow). by the time i'm done with my session, i get darker ABV with ff2 compared to the mighty.

not a bad purchase, two different experiences that are appropriate for different places and different times
