Does anyone else ever just forget about how their parents make them feel?

[Question]

This might be something that's brought up often here; in that case I'm sorry, I'm new to this.

I was just thinking about this thing the other day.

I live with my parents, but see my mother more than my father. There tends to be periods where things go worse, or better with my mother. When it's bad, I really see the ways in which none of this is healthy and all I can do is break down (from the stress, but also just the sadness). But some days my mother will be .. nice? I still fully realize I have to stay on my tiptoes and not say anything wrong, but it's a lot more peaceful. Or when I am away from my family for an extended period of time and the limited contact makes everything manageable. And then, I forget. I forget about how I feel when things aren't going so well, I forget about the things she's said and the ways she's reacted and how it's made me feel. I start telling myself I've only been making all of this up and that she's a perfectly nice mother and that I am just acting wrong (and I really believe it). But then things go bad again, and that's when I realize that I haven't just been making everything up, and that I'm right to feel so hurt and angry about all of this.

Do any of you go through these kinds of things? How can I promise myself I won't think those things when my mother and I get along?
