I've got the red pixels on the left screen. What can I do?

So I have a kickstarter edition that I bought off of someone who went with a vive, and like many kickstarter editions (and non? Seems like they get hit the most) I have the red pixel issue.

If you aren't sure what that is, for me anyway, the left side of the screen, particularly the top left almost like a gradiant down, has red pixels when the screen should be black. The right screen is okay, it goes dark properly, but the left screen man.. It's very bad.

I read that some guy contacted support and was given a file that did something and might help.. although he said it made it worse.. but anyway, are there options available? I fear contacting Oculus they won't help since mine is a "black market" rift
