New male veiled makes a sort of "squawking" noise randomly, do they normally do that?

Just got him. I had recently got a female but decided to return her and get a male. He's been making this noise that sounds like a really quiet goose. Do the males normally do that because the female didn't.

Update: hasn't really moved all day. Doesnt really respond to me being there or touching him shown in gifs. Last one is tilted sideways for whatever reason but he opens his mouth like this and makes a noise as if you were to quietly say "ahhh." does he have a URTI? http://m.imgur.com/a/ZAtuT
