Is it too late?

So I've had the core set of Netrunner for a few years and have always wanted to get into it. I've attempted to play it a few times, but swear I'm playing it incorrectly. I play a few other LCG/TCG games (primarily AGOT 2nd right now) so I'm familiar with the model and how to play card games. My main question is: is it too late to invest in Android: Netrunner? The sheer amount of cards to buy are quite prohibitive. I love the setting and think I'd love the gameplay if I fully understood it, but I'm not sure it's worth it. Any opinions?

Thanks
