CMV: The argument against homosexuals that 'being gay is a choice' is still viable, as it is more relating to the fact of not how you think/feel, but rather how you act.

[∆(s) from OP]

First off, I don't want to get flak for being a homophobe; as I am not. However, I am not one to completely denounce peoples negative views against homosexuality, as I don't have a stance - I simply don't care.

Time and time again I hear the argument, "just stop being gay", and I feel like there may be some ground to it. I think this has a few different interpretations, but I want my view changed on my interpretation of the argument, which is - Although you may be born attracted to your same sex, there is no one, or anything forcing you to partake in homosexual behaviors. Similarly, as a straight male, there is nothing forcing me to take part in heterosexual behaviors. Theoretically, I could live out the rest of my life never taking part in any sort of heterosexual behaviors, and still be a heterosexual male. I feel that is what most people are arguing when they say 'just stop being gay'.

So, in conclusion, "stop being gay" is a viable reasons for people to argue against homosexuality, as there is nothing forcing them to act upon their sexuality. Easily put; you do have the choice to be gay.
