Input lag issues? Long-ish post follows.

Hey, guys. Looking for some insight. I'm not sure if anyone here plays on emulators, but here's to hoping.

I'm practicing some Super Metroid speedrun strategies, and I'm having trouble. I don't know if ita crappy reflexes, or input lag that plagues many emulators. For reference, I'm playing on SNES9X GX for the Wii.

The strategies I'm trying to pull off are called "Alcatraz escape" (pulling off some wall jumps so you can roll out of a tight squeeze after getting the bomb) and "Quick Kill Kraid" which is exactly what it sounds like. Hitting Kraid when his mouth is open halfway freezes him for just long enough to fire off 4 Super Missiles before he can fully rise from the ground.

I can't pull off the first trick at all, and although I've pulled off QKK a couple times, it's definitely not something I could pull off without savestates. I've practiced for hours and I've only gotten marginally better. I think I've noticed a difference in input lag on the emulator vs. playing on the virtual console, but I'm not exactly sharp enough to determine with any level of certainty that I'm seeing it or not.

So, have any of you guys used this emulator and noticed a significant amount of lag? Should I not be practicing these strats on the emulator?

Sorry for the long post. Any help would be rad.
