Buttons not working?!

My 5x has a few buttons towards the bottom of the screen that always seem to not work. When I am recording video, I have to tap 'stop' incessantly to get it to stop. Sometimes it never will.

When Im playing a game, its always one button at the bottom of the screen that takes many taps to register a tap. (first card in clash Royale, for example).

When Im trying to hang up a call I have to, again, tap feverishly to get it to hang up-- usually they hang up on me.

These nuisances are getting so bad I just want to spike my phone.

I have downloaded painting apps and it seems to register touch 100% of the time in those areas when I draw.

What is the deal? Fortunately I got the extended warranty from google for my device, but I am not sure if this is the phone, software, or maybe others are experiencing it?
