Unisaw motor upgrade?
So I found a good deal on a 1.5hp Rockwell Unisaw ($275 with fence, rails, outfeed, and extension table) and jumped on it. I haven't started it yet as I'm doing some work on my garage and still need to do some restoration on the motor. However, I'm now seeing a used 5hp 3 phase motor for sale for around $150. If I can sell the original motor for $150-$200, and then spend the same amount on a good used VFD, is it worth the upgrade? Will it significantly increase the resale value? Will the feed rate and/or cut quality between 1.5 and 5 hp be significantly improved? I'm mostly doing hobbyist stuff, but don't mind spending a little more up front if it's actually worth it. Thanks for all you guys' help.
