Are some coffee regions or processing methods suited more towards the Aeropress than the V60?

I made one of my first whole bean purchases recently from a local coffee roaster. I was all nervous and clearly out of my depth on the subject and was jittering my way though the conversation just so I could pay and leave.

The roaster asked what brewing method I was planning to use for the bean I'd selected and following my answer they suggested that they preferred that particular batch via a V60.

I jittered some more, paid, and left. Only later did I give the question and comment some thought.

Should I be only using certain regional coffees or only natural or washed coffee beans with my Aeropress?

Clearly I have a lot to learn and I know that the weight, timings, and way I use my Aeropress will come in to it; but I wonder if maybe there are some coffees I should be choosing over others?

I welcome any thoughts you may have to share.
