Do i even have Bipolar anymore?
I was diagnosed when i was 15 in 2010. It's been soon 6 years since i was put on Lamictal and seroquel, i went through some depression in my teenage years that went on for a while and i eventually had enough of it, Tried to end it in late 2010, failed and was diagnosed + hospitalized for a few months. I take Lamictal when i wake up as "mood stabilizer" And seroquel at night to sleep, i seriously though seroquel was a sleeping medicine for over a year, much like Melatonin, until i read up on it that people take that zombie like drug during the day, i seriously get so tired i can't even eat on seroquel.
If i had Bipolar, i would assume 2010-2012 were the times i had it, because those times was when i had sudden mood turns all the time. I agree those times might been a bit crazy, but i was really never a person to cut myself etc. I never tried a second suicide because i felt quite humiliated that i was saved/stopped on my first attempt, so during 2011 instead of thinking of doing that again i just went with the though; "haha. Oh well, i can end it whenever i want, lol? i will just play along with this life a bit more and see how it turns out for the heck of it" Glad my 15 yr old self decided that, because i kinda enjoy life. :) Seriously those 7 years as teenager was quite a mess xD.
I was Incredible scared of vomiting during 2008-2011 which i might think leading the doctors to believing more in bipolar, it was so bad that many times after dinner i would have 30min with anxiety because i had to just burp some air, eventually i mastered control over that in 2012, and today most of my memories of puking is rather funny, most is from times i puked after drinking too much.. hehe, so many stupid hilarious stories..
Ever since 2013, stuff have actually been pretty cool, i still got some small social anxiety from time to time, but it's getting better. I dislike being under the affect of meds that slow my thinking down, and i feel slow on lamictal, so there is days i don't take it, and i am still fairly happy all day. I no longer get random moments when i am sad and depressed, i am only sad and depressed when i think about sad things, i am quite sentimental so when i first think about deaths of my loved ones, or a sad story, so of course i get depressed. Everyone can have bad days, i still have days when i am a bit tired and a little angry, but everyone can have a day that doesn't work out for them, and i sometimes have them both On and off lamictal.
The main reason why i don't believe i have such strong version of Bipolar anymore is because i don't have 50 different moods swings a day. And that doesn't change even after i don't take lamictal for a day.
I'm afraid i am in a way addicted to seroquel as a sleeping aid, i seriously can't sleep without it. On seroquel i can have a 8-12 hours good sleep if i want, without it my night is pretty fucked.
So to my fellow mood swingers, have you ever stopped on your meds and been just as fine? The longest i have gone without lamictal is a bit over 1 week, and i was just fine. Taking lamictal feels more like a habit than something i take to cure something now...
