Sigelei 213 First Impresions
Ok so there are at least a few other reviews here about the 213, but I figured I'd throw my 2 cents into the mix. Before I get started I'd like to preface this by saying I am not a super advanced vaper. I know a lot about it but most of that just comes from reading reviews, watching videos, and having a little bit of technical experience when it comes to electronics in general. I'm not really a builder and I have mostly just used tanks for my whole vaping life. I have used temp control a little bit, but not regularly and definitely not enough to tell you how well this thing works doing TC, as I have yet to try it out on this. Hopefully I can soon, and I will update this review then. So, all that being said let's get started.
I picked the 213 up from Eciggity as they were running a sale on it, and I got it for $80 or so. This really is no small amount of money for me, but after much deliberation I bought it and I am extremely glad I did. The reason I am saying this is because I usually have terrible buyers remorse when spending money on things, but after getting this thing in my hand I am extremely happy with my purchase and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Overall, I would give the build quality on this thing an 8/10. Before I continue I'd like to say my rating scale is very hyper critical, and almost nothing will ever receive a 10/10 from me. So that is a very good score in my book. It feels very solid in the hand, like an expensive pocketknife. There are very few hard edges and it is extremely comfortable to hold. However, there are a few issues.
On the side of the mod that the screen is on the seam at the top of the mod is slightly off, and the CF body comes outside the edge of the top plate, not a huge deal, but the CF seems like it's starting to come unwoven as the bare CF is exposed, which could pose a future problem. This does however tell me that the CF is absolutely the real deal, which is pretty awesome actually.
Barring that problem everything else seems great. The buttons are nice and clicky which gives great feedback to the user, and the battery door is solid and doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The 510 connection is ridiculously smooth and feels nice and strong. Of note is that even when the tank makes contact with the 510 pin when screwing it in, the threads still stay smooth, meaning that the threads are super smooth, and they have also really gotten the strength of the spring in the pin correct.
The screen and interface of the menus seems great. Not too much complication, but plenty of options for the more advanced guys. I'll have to update this when I try the TC, but as far as power mode goes the thing works great. Also, the screen is very bright and also extremely clear. It looks better than any mod I've used before. I've never used a DNA device so I'm not sure how this compares to those screens, but this thing is miles ahead of my Vapor Flask Lite and my Istick TC60w.
The size of this thing is honestly incredible, and was one of the big selling points for me. It really isn't much bigger than my Istick 60w, and has more than double the battery life. For the guys that thought they would never use a 2x18650 mod this might change your minds, it definitely has mine. I always said I don't need more than a single 18650 mod, but now I am incredibly happy that I decided to take the plunge and get this thing. It is still easily pocketable, and isn't too heavy. It might just be that I'm used to a single battery, but the battery life on this thing seems amazing. Today is Sunday, and I just changed out the batteries I put in it on Friday night before bed. It's worth noting that I've only been through around 10-15 mils of juice since then, but that means most of ya'll should have no problem going a whole day on a single set of batteries.
So, overall I give this thing a 9/10. Its definitely the best mod I've ever owned and I wouldn't have a second thought about recommending this to a friend. If you are on the fence about buying this and aren't super concerned about TC, (which for all I know might be just as great as the rest of the mod) just buy the dang thing. Until next time, thanks for reading and I hope this review can help someone make a decision on their next device.
