Uncontrollable ringing

The other day I had to perform a complete restore back to factory settings because my phone just kept ringing and vibrating randomly. Nothing I did would turn it off except obviously when I took the battery out. At the same time, the dialer wasn't working. Dialing out and receiving calls worked however I couldn't hear a word and the caller couldn't either (complete silence). YouTube is not working now, keeps telling me error loading try again. I'm running the latest android os, not rooted.

I've been reading on forums for the past few days searching for a solution. Others are saying it's an app that is doing it, and some are saying it's a known antenna issue amongst galaxy s Series phones. Texting and browsing works well, it's the dialing out and receiving calls that's the problem. Plus the uncontrollable random ringing everyone I press the volume button up.
