lubuntu 14.01 Live CD issue
Edit: Just noticed a mistake in the title it should be 14.04.
Hey guys, I've got a lubuntu live CD I use for work and I've just upgraded to a new machine and the live disc doesn't work in the new rig. I've tried running the disc with the following settings: acpi=off, noapic, nolapic. I'm not really versed in Linux but I read about using F6 to watch the OS load and I've seen it fail 2 times and on 2 different steps. the first time I did not set acpi=off and a sound module failed to load, then when I enabled it a back up video module failed. Both times it goes to a blank screen and I have to hard reset. I also tried it with the default settings from the disc and it fails but I did not see happen to see were it fails at.
This Live disc is apart of a new program at work and I've gone to the IT guys and basically they said they cant help me with hardware issues. They advised me to check for secure boot and legacy options in the BIOS. Which I did, secure boot seems to only be selectable with win8 compatibility set on which set the boot options to UEFI only. Thats an issue because I have my windows install setup under the legacy boot option. So right now boot is set to UEFI+Legacy.
My new system:
i7-6700 Processor 16GB DDR4-2133 Memory GTX 970 4GB MSI H170A PCMATE 256GB ADATA SP600 V2 SSD 24x Dual Layer DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW Drive
Any idea what could be the cause of this problem?
