New to astronomy-tips for using binoculars

Discussion

So I just recently became very interested in astronomy and observing various things such as the moon, planets and stars after visiting my local observatory and taking a few classes. I find it extremely fascinating. So I ordered myself a pair of binoculars... These to be specific Celestron Skymaster 15x70 http://www.amazon.com/Celestron-SkyMaster-Binoculars-Tripod-Adapter/dp/B00008Y0VN. I know you can see a lot with just binoculars... Possibly some planets, stars, maybe galaxies and definetely the moon... Wanted to start to start out small. Any tips on things I should be looking for or other tips for using binoculars for an amateur? I can clearly see Jupiter and Mars (Along with some easily noticeable stars such as Antares and Arcturus) so I thought I would maybe try those out first, especially since the moon does not seem to be out currently. Also, a final note, I live in Cincinnati, somewhat near the city. So some pollution, clouds and lights. Thanks for any suggestions!!
