Questions about resume and what to include

I was speaking to my managers one day and she told me that I should just take out the jobs I had that were short term and cover the gaps by extending the length of my other lengthier jobs. Is this good advice or no? I've had jobs where I worked for only the opening of the store, I don't put that on my resume. I've had jobs where it was only a couple of months because it was summer camp and the other one got sued for malpractice but I include both... What do I do? I've had 5-6 different jobs in the past 5 years
