Anyone run into a blank pop up when trying to sign into xbox live?

So I'm trying to get Minecraft of my wife's computer and every time I try to open it something strange happens. The windows opens up no problem and for a second I can see her character on the right and the start game and all of those buttons in the middle. Then a dark grey pop up comes up and the Minecraft window changes to say sign in. but the dark popup is blank. I close the Minecraft window and try to sign in to Xbox live. I click sign in and bam. Same pop up. I have restarted the computer several times, checked the Xbox services, check ram/cpu/disk. Saddly there isn't anything online for this exact issue so I thought maybe one of you guys might know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

specs - 4gb of RAM, Intel Centrino 2, integrated graphics card from the Centrino 2.

Edit - Not sure what happened. Restarted the pc AGAIN and it decided to update. Which resolved this issue.
