Need some tips for the dwarf campaign (very hard diff)

Basically every time I start I take the starting province, do the quest battle and then grimgor comes in with the scabby eyes with a waagh and there's pretty much nothing I can do with only one army vs 3 full stacks. The same thing has happened after like three restarts. Combined with some benny hill running around with the bloody spearz starting army it's been truly an incredible experience.
