Grating static sound instead of music

Recently, when I've been using the Spotify Web Player to listen to music, at random points during random songs the music will stop and a very loud "RRRRRRRRR" sound will play for a few seconds or so, replacing a few seconds of the song. To make it stop, I have to open the web player tab from the background, which I don't want to do every 10 seconds or so in order to listen uninterrupted. There's nothing wrong with my earbuds, and my internet connection is decent, so I don't think it's either of those. Any information about what's causing it and how to solve the problem would be useful.
