Q6600 for HTPC

Hello PCMR, I am looking into putting together a HTPC for mostly video content, but also some light couch co-op or fighting games, as well as pcsx2 and dolphin if it can handle it at all. I was previously looking into getting a better cpu, but I have the opportunity to get a q6600 with 780i motherboard and 8gb of ram for $45. How well would the q6600 hold up, and is that a good enough deal to go that route?
