In your opinion, which contracts, given to a player or coach, were the most head-scratching, due to previous production versus value and/or post-production versus value.

Example

Cowboys fan: Wow, I can't believe you guys gave Albert Haynesworth $100m. Why would you do that?

Me: Although, it's hard to justify that amount of money to a non-quarterback, it wasn't that crazy because he had an elite year in Tennessee. However, when we saw what he did, once he got the contract, we all hated our GM and wanted to choke a penguin.
