Will getting an i5-4590 do me good for a future 1070?

I'm stuck in the 2-year-long hell-hole known as having an outdated 6300 with an outdated MoBo to go along with it and I'm having a hard time choosing what Intel cpu to transition to. All I want is a slightly better performance (at least) than my current 6300, a decent price (why the hell are all Intel cpus so expensive) and avoiding a bottleneck.

HUGE EDIT: It's an FX-6300, not an Intel.
